Sparkling oval 14.85 oval Lemon Quartz in Sterling Silver ring. The lovely, glittering gemcut Lemon Quartz is perfect for everyday wearing, 19 X 14 MM. The gemcut is so sparkly it is delight to wear. This gorgeous Brazilian gem comes from one of our favorite suppliers in Belo Horizonte, the capital of the state of Minas Gerais (general mines) in Brazil. We were originally sent to him by a supplier friend of ours in Rio de Janeiro more than ten years ago on one of our first trips to Belo. Now he not only supplies us with gemstones, many from his own mines, but also assists with our gemstone settings, including the lovely Lemon Quartz.
We first saw Lemon Quartz when we lived in Brazil. We knew it as ‘oro verde’ or ‘green gold.’ We like using Lemon Quartz in our jewelry because of its sparkle and durability. It’s a form of quartz that often has been heat treated to change color. It has all the colored quartz properties so it is a great, wearable gemstone. Do be careful to store Lemon quartz out of direct sunlight or intense heat to preserve its color. If you like yellow, this could be a great choice of gemstone for you!
